it hurts my head every time i buy a packet of vegetables because it feels unnatural. a bag of spuds. a tin of sweetcorn. a carton of milk. a bottle of juice. if this sounds fine to you, i guess we differ in opinion.
everything that comes from the earth should be a given to anything and anyone that lives on the rock.
sustenance, shelter, community. other animals have it. we pay. it's what makes us special, remember?
all the while anything non-human gets bled dry, as we're secial, remember?
when the earth fights back with disease, storms and draught, we curse it as if it's her fault we bloomed on her surface like parasitic mold.
we were smart enough to conceptualise the "butterfly effect" but too dense and stubborn to abide by it.
